Ground search yields no results of Michael Vagnini

No new information about the disappearance of a Sudbury councillor has come to light following intensive searches.

The O.P.P. helicopter and ground search over the last four days in the McCharles Lake Road and Panache Lake Road areas has yielded no new information about the whereabouts of Michael Vagnini.

Yesterday afternoon, the Greater Sudbury Police and North Shore Search and Rescue Teams searched the Moonglo neighbourhood with the assistance of the Remotely Piloted Aircraft System commonly called drones.

Police continue to ask the public to be on the lookout asking them to check parking lots and outdoor buildings.

Vagnini has been missing since January 27th.

Anyone with information related to the whereabouts of Michael Vagnini or the vehicle is asked to contact police at 705- 675-9171 extension 2320. He was last seen driving a black 2021 Ram 1500 truck with Ontario license plate BK22178. There is damage to the back right taillight of the truck.

The extension is now a dedicated tip line for this investigation; however, if you have immediate and actionable information related to the whereabouts of Vagnini or his vehicle, call 9-1-1.
