Harvest Kitchen volunteers have teamed up with Elliot Lake Intermediate School students to fundraise for their school nutrition program and to also help create awareness about food insecurity.
The fundraiser is simple in that they ask the community to purchase their local Algoma farm fresh-graded eggs through an online order form.
Each dozen costs $6 and the profits will be split equally between the ELIS nutrition program and Harvest Kitchen initiative.
This fundraiser is open to everyone in Elliot Lake and across the North Shore.
The students will also be creating a presentation for their peers on what local resources are available in the community that assist with food insecurity.
Elliot Lake pickup will be on January 31st and the rest of the North Shore will be on January 29th.
All the details for pick-up and delivery can be found on the order form or by contacting a volunteer at 705-241-4918.
The Harvest Kitchen has served over 600 meals to more than 100 visitors since it began eight weeks ago.
