East Algoma OPP is now working with other police services in the search for a mother and daughter who went missing on Monday.
Constable Bev Gauthier says they were advised that five-year-old Nakina Boyer and her mother Jeanette departed their residence in Mississauga First Nation earlier in the day, adding there was a scheduled appointment they failed to attend. Â
She adds the family is known to frequent Batchewana First Nation and has ties to the City of Sault Ste Marie. Â
She says they are following up on leads with other police services as well as conducting more interviews. Â
Gauthier says the investigation is continuing. Â
Nakina is described as indigenous, 4’0″ tall, 80 pounds, heavy build, brown eyes, and straight light brown hair.  Â
Her mother is described as indigenous, 5’3″ tall, approximately 145 pounds, medium build, brown eyes, and long brown hair. Â
Anyone with information is asked to call the OPP. Â
