East Algoma OPP is looking for a young girl and her mother.
Constable Bev Gauthier says yesterday morning, their office received a report of a missing person from Mississauga First Nation.
Police were advised that five-year-old Nakina Boyer and her mother Jeanette departed their residence earlier in the day, adding there was a scheduled appointment they failed to attend.
Nakina is described as indigenous, 4’0″ tall, 80 pounds, heavy build, brown eyes, and straight light brown hair.
Her mother is described as indigenous, 5’3″ tall, approximately 145 pounds, medium build, brown eyes, and long brown hair.
Police say the family is known to frequent Batchewana First Nation and has ties to the City of Sault Ste Marie.
Anyone with information is asked to call the OPP.
