East Algoma OPP responds to a suspicious person in a residence

East Algoma OPP responded to a suspicious person complaint late last week in Spanish.
Constable Bev Gauthier says on December 29th shortly after 4:00 am, officers responded to a complaint of a suspicious person in the homeowner’s residence on John Street in Spanish.
She says the complainants were awakened when they heard someone on the main floor of their residence and the homeowners engaged in a conversation with this individual until police arrived.
She says a 36-year-old man from Spanish was peacefully arrested and charged with trespass, break-and-enter, possession of a dangerous weapon, he had a can of bear mace in his possession, and breach charges.
Gauthier says the accused has been remanded into custody.
