Canadian government invests $400,000 in Algoma Indigenous-owned business through FedNor

Sault Ste. Marie MP Terry Sheehan says $442,000 in FedNor funding was presented yesterday to Trucor Steel Structures Incorporated, an Indigenous-owned and led business.

He says FedNor’s support will enable the Batchawana-based business to purchase heavy equipment for construction.

Specifically, the funds will support the acquisition of an excavator, front end loader, skid steer, and a mini excavator, allowing the company to dig foundations for building projects and to participate in other construction opportunities.

He adds in addition to supporting the growth of an Indigenous-owned and led business in the district, the project is expected to create ten full-time jobs.
