The public is being invited to a presentation on McIntyre Powder and its impact on Northern Ontario miners this week marking the 80th anniversary of its first use.
Janice Martell, the woman behind the McIntyre Powder Project, says the event will serve as a memorial to miners whose health was negatively affected by the substance, as well as an educational session to find out more.
As part of the anniversary, Martell says she will also be unveiling a new banner featuring the photos of miners affected.
She adds the event will take place tomorrow between 9 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. at the United Steelworkers Hall in Sudbury adding it is free to the public.
