Ten people charged after drug warrant executed in Elliot Lake

Ten people facing drug charges following drug warrant execution in Elliot Lake.

East Algoma OPP Constable Phil Young says numerous stolen items linked to thefts from retail stores have been recovered following the execution of a warrant in the city earlier this week. 

He adds approximately $7,000 in cash, suspected Fentanyl, Cocaine, and Crystal Meth, and more were also seized.  

Four men and four women from Elliot Lake, one man from Huron Shores and one man from Mississauga are facing various drug-related and/or possession of stolen property charges. 

The ten will appear in either Blind River or Elliot Lake court to answer to the charges.  

 

The charges are as follows:

A 44-year-old man of Elliot Lake was charged with:

  •       Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 (two counts) 
  •       Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Cocaine 
  •       Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Opioid (other than Heroin) 
  •       Fail to comply with Probation Order 

 

A 48-year-old man of Huron Shores was charged with: 

  •       Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 (two counts) 

 

A 61-year-old man of Elliot Lake was charged with: 

  •       Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 (two counts) 
  •       Fail to attend for court – as per Undertaking 

 

A 61-years-old man of Elliot Lake was charged with: 

  •       Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 (two counts) 

 

These four accused persons appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice Bail Court in Blind River yesterday. 

 

A 29-year-old woman of Elliot Lake was charged with: 

  •       Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 (two counts) 
  •       Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Opioid (other than Heroin) 

 

A 54-year-old woman of Elliot Lake was charged with: 

  •       Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 (two counts) 

 

A 31-year-old woman of Spanish was charged with: 

  •       Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 (two counts) 
  •       Fail to attend for court – as per Undertaking 

 

A 44-year-old woman of Elliot Lake was charged with: 

  •       Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 (two counts) 

 

A 74-year-old man of Elliot Lake was charged with: 

  •       Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 (two counts) 

 

A 40-year-old man of Mississauga was charged with: 

  •       Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine 
  •       Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Opioid (other than Heroin) 
  •       Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000 
  •       Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 (two counts) 

 

These six accused persons are to appear in Elliot Lake court in January.
