Three Islanders, one Southern Ontario man charged following drug warrant

The Manitoulin OPP has charged four people with drug and weapons related offences after a search warrant was executed in Wikwemikong Unceded Territory.

OPP Constable Jessica Gilbertson says late last week, a search warrant was executed at a residence on Peltier’s Trail in Wiikwemkoong Unceded Territory.

She says police arrested six people and seized suspected cocaine, crack cocaine and fentanyl with a street value of $26,500 as well as drug paraphernalia, a loaded handgun and over $5,000 in cash.

Gilbertson adds two of the individuals were released from police custody unconditionally with the other four, two men and two women, facing multiple drug-related charges including several counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking.

She says the four are to appear in Sudbury court on November 22nd.

A 46-year-old woman from Wikwemikong Unceded Territory has been charged with:

 

Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – opioid (other than heroin)

Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine – two counts

Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000

Careless storage of a firearm

Unauthorized possession of prohibited firearm

Knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm

Possession of loaded prohibited firearm

Tampering with serial number of a firearm

Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose

Possession of a firearm obtained by crime

 

A 26-year-old woman from Wikwemikong Unceded Territory has been charged with:

Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – opioid (other than heroin)

Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine – two counts

Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000

Careless storage of a firearm

Unauthorized possession of prohibited firearm

Knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm

Possession of loaded prohibited firearm

Tampering with serial number of a firearm

Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose

Possession of a firearm obtained by crime

 

A 53-year-old man from Wikwemikong Unceded Territory has been charged with:

Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – opioid (other than heroin)

Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine – two counts

Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000

Careless storage of a firearm

Unauthorized possession of prohibited firearm

Knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm

Possession of loaded prohibited firearm

Tampering with serial number of a firearm

Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose

Possession of a firearm obtained by crime

Possession of a firearm contrary to a Prohibition Order

 

 

A 23-year-old from Ajax has been charged with:

Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – opioid (other than heroin)

Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine – two counts

Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000

Careless storage of a firearm

Unauthorized possession of prohibited firearm

Knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm

Possession of loaded prohibited firearm

Tampering with serial number of a firearm

Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose

Possession of a firearm obtained by crime

Failure to comply with a release order – other than to attend court – two counts
