Grassroots projects, in Ontario and B.C. have received funding thanks to the retired teacher’s annual community grants campaign.

Board chair, Martha Foster explains since 1968, the retired teachers’ association has been a voice for everything education with members taking on many volunteer and advocacy roles within their districts, which can apply for grants to support a local project.

She says District 3 Algoma is one of the recipients this year receiving $4,000 to help the Kensington Conservancy in Desbarats make trail improvements.
