Mantha removed from caucus but plans to focus on his riding

Algoma-Manitoulin MPP Michael Mantha has been permanently removed from the NDP caucus but says he will continue focusing on his constituents and his work as the representative of the riding.

Mantha says he disagrees with the results of an investigation which had him removed last month due to allegations of workplace misconduct.

At that time NDP leader Marit Stiles said the allegations had been substantiated by multiple witness interviews and video evidence, but no specifics were released publicly.

He said it is time for him to focus on the issues that matter and are most important to the people of the riding, especially the recent announcement of the idling of the pulp and paper mill in Espanola.

Mantha says he has been in contact with various provincial ministries and now can inform the community there is going to be a rapid re-employment action provided by the Labour ministry.

He adds he takes responsibility for his actions and plans to move forward now that the investigation is finished.
