Espanola Pride finalizes inaugural event schedule

Espanola Pride has finalized its inaugural event schedule offering a variety of activities for all ages.

Tanner’s Your Independent Grocers has donated $2,000 towards the inaugural committee’s various events, which will take place September 8th and  9th.

The events include a kickoff for Pride celebrations with a movie night sponsored by Outdoor Movies North on Friday at the Espanola Track and Field Oval, the location for most of the events.

Participants can come in an hour or so before sundown to set up their blankets to watch the family film.

Saturday is the big day with a Family Fun Day starting at ten am, the PRIDE bike or walk around the oval at 2 pm, capped off with a comedy show at the local Legion hall at 8 hosted by Laugh Local North.

The day’s events include games, inflatables, facepainting and bike decorating contest, crafts and games, a barbecue hosted by the Espanola Lions Club with the Moose 99.3 FM Morning Host, Rosalind Russell, being the Mistress of Ceremonies for the day.

The committee says volunteers, donations and/or sponsorships are much appreciated.
