The grand opening is not until next week, but if you are looking for a great way to cool off the kids and yourself, head on down to the former Sherwood Park in Espanola because the new splash pad is open.
The formal renaming of the park in memory of former deputy mayor William P. Foster and the grand opening of the new park amenities takes place this coming Thursday at 11 am.
However, with the equipment in place, families are more than welcome to check it out now.
The quarter-million dollar project took just over two years to complete and includes 19 features as well as two wheelchair-accessible activators.
The playground area has also been revamped, the grounds cleaned up and parking expanded.
Sherwood Park’s playground equipment has been moved and revamped as part of the new splash pad project.
