ÉSC Jeunesse-Nord shines through community and intergenerational partnership

The partnership between students at a Blind River school and their local long-term care center continues to grow, not only as a project but as a success.

Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon communication director Paul de la Riva says despite the school year drawing to a close, the partnership between École secondaire catholique Jeunesse-Nord in Blind River and residents of the Golden Birches Long-Term Care Centre will continue.

He says for several years, students have produced and distributed cards and gifts to the residents but also shared their life stories, cultures, and religions.

De la Riva says that the relationship will continue with students once again in the fall, adding the ongoing project is an excellent example of the school’s role in promoting social inclusion and intergenerational solidarity.
