Fire ban in Elliot Lake and Blind River – check with your local municipal or First Nation band office for status

Fire Chief John Thomas and Acting Fire Chief Bruce
Brisbois announced today that effective 12:00 a.m. May 30, 2023, due to no rain and extremely dry conditions, thereĀ is a Fire Ban in effect in Elliot Lake and Blind River.
The Fire Ban means that no burning or open flame is allowed. This means:
ļ‚· All burning permits are suspended.
ļ‚· No campfires.
ļ‚· No burning in outdoor fireplaces.
ļ‚· No burning in outdoor fire pits.
ļ‚· No incinerator burning.
ļ‚· No brush or slash burning.
Any person setting an open-air fire shall be responsible and liable for costs and could be liable to a fine
