The human remains found on April 18 have been identified as those of a 53-year-old from Espanola who was declared missing earlier this year.
In January, the OPP began an investigation regarding the whereabouts of a missing person, last seen walking on Queensway Street in Espanola on Dec. 9.
Police say foul play has been ruled out, and are thanking the public for their assistance in the investigation.
