An original art piece is being raffled off to raise funds for special education classes.
Espanola’s assistant pool operator, Megan Schmidt, says she made an art piece, Waagosh, at one of her classes at Brock University as part of her Indigenous Culture class.
She says both the recreation department and Espanola Lion’s Club have assisted in setting up a raffle with the funds going towards providing swim lessons for special education classes that attend Wiikwemkoong’s Pontiac School.
Schmidt adds the tickets are available at the front desk of the complex at $5 each.
She says the draw will be held March 29th at 7 pm on Lions TV Bingo.
