Communities across the country including our own will honour the late Hazel McCallion’s passing today flying their flags at half mast in respect to one of Canada’s longest-serving politicians.
McCallion has been lying in state over the last two days at Mississauga City Hall and a funeral will be held at noon today at the Paramount Fine Foods Centre.
In lieu of flowers, the McCallion family has asked that donations be made to Trillium Health Partners Foundation or to the Hazel McCallion Charitable Foundation for Arts, Culture and Heritage.
McCallion served 12 consecutive terms as Mayor of Mississauga.
