Negotiations continue in treaty talks

Negotiations between the three parties involved in the Robinson-Huron Treaty Annuities Case are ongoing.

Officials say Canada, Ontario and the 21 Robinson Huron Treaty First Nations continue to work together to try and find common ground outside the courtroom.

Spokesperson Duke Peltier of Wiikwemkoong Unceded Territory says they community members are invested in the progress of the case – and they will work to make sure accurate and clear information is shared when they can provide updates – which he hopes will be soon.

The update comes nearly two weeks after they sought a further adjournment of litigation.

The talks begin in mid-January.
