ÉSC Jeunesse-Nord Prime Minister wants to make the voice of Francophone students heard

Mariska Lamothe, a student at École secondaire catholique Jeunesse-Nord in Blind River, wants to be a voice for the students she now represents in both the Manitoulin and Algoma Districts.

Lamothe not only holds the position of Prime Minister of the Student Parliament, the grade 11 student also serves as the Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon student trustee for the Districts of Algoma and Manitoulin.

Lamothe says she is proud to participate in student senate meetings to ensure the voice of Francophone students is heard and believes that could make a big difference in her education and that of her peers.

Lamothe adds she offers feedback on the students’ perspective to the school board but will also organize different activities such as food drives and student rallies throughout the school year.
