Elliot Lake’s SAD rebuilding its home base

Elliot Lake’s Society for Animals in Distress has found a new home, so fundraising is now underway to open the new facility this Spring.

Furever Homes and Lodging had to close their last location because of structural problems, so a new location has finally been secured, according to a SAD spokesperson, Donna Rochon.

Rochon says Furever Homes and Lodging is in the process of renovating their new location at 37 Timber Road, which will include two feline rooms and the canine section.

She says funds are needed for the renovations, so SAD has launched an adopt-a-kennel program adding donors will be acknowledged with plaques in the different areas of the facility being donated by local craftsmen.

Rochon says the donations will also be tax-deductible and hopes to have the funding in place so they can re-open their doors in early Spring.
