Demolition work moving along at AB Ellis PS

The original part of AB Ellis Public School built in 1919 is expected to be demolished over the next few days.

According to a release, the Rainbow District School Board is planning to incorporate the original date façade and cornerstone, as well as bricks as a dedication marker into the new green space and parking lot.

Demolition of the building began just over two weeks ago, and the entire building is expected to be down within the next few days followed by the clean-up of materials off the site.

AB Ellis Public School students and staff are now housed in the Espanola High School building.

Work is progressing quickly on the demolition and the removal of the materials is expected to take a few more weeks to complete.
