Elliot Laker well on his way to fundraising for Easter Seals

Joseph Deveau of Elliot Lake has been busy over the last few weeks raising funds for one of his favourite causes.

Deveau has approached several businesses for donations for the upcoming Espanola/North Shore Snowarama.

He says last year, he raised $4,400 but this year his goal is $5,000 with $2,100 collected all ready for the ride on Sunday, February 12th.

He adds the funds stay in the local area to support children with disabilities with medical equipment, programming, and summer camp.

The supporting businesses are including AC Towing and Storage, C.R. Enterprise, Hooper’s Law Office, O.K Tire, North Shore Cruisers Car Club, Seidel’s, Choice Tire, Pet Valu, Hutchinson Automotive and Glass, Rite Way Countertops, Elliot Lake Trading Post, A.H. Locksmith, Alpine Flowers & Gifts, and MPP Mike Mantha.

This year’s event begins at Tim Hortons in Espanola for registration, from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.  The ride will begin at 10 a.m., with a ride to the Back Home Bistro in Massey for lunch.

Following the day’s activities, a spaghetti dinner, awards ceremony, and prize distribution will take place at Eagles Club, 2 Centre St., Webbwood, beginning at 5 pm.

Advance tickets for the dinner will only be available until February 9th at a cost of $15 per person.  For tickets call Gaetanne Sokoloski at 705.869.3509 or Sue Belanger 705.869.0179.
