Elliot Lake has a snowmobile trail system that connects to the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Club and the local club, the Elliot Lake Snowbirds, has now opened a new snowmobile staging area.
According to the release, the federation-approved parking spot is located just north of the Elliot Lake Municipal Airport.
It will provide users with a safe place to offload their sleds to hit the trails in a safe manner.
The launch area was opened as part of International Snowmobile Safety Week, which runs all this week.
