Boosters and the holidays

With high flu cases in both districts, Public Health Sudbury and Public Health Algoma, are both strongly encouraging the public to their flu shots and/or COVID boosters.

Dr. Imran Adrian Khan of Sudbury Public Health says there have been over 300 flu cases since December 16th, a 20-year high for the district.

He adds, they are also seeing ongoing COVID-19 transmission and illness, so he encourages the public to get their immunizations as soon as possible.

Public Health Algoma is also seeing higher than usual numbers.

They are hosting a walk-in clinic next Thursday at the Collins Hall in Elliot Lake to provide an opportunity for adults and children to get the shots they need.
