Cameco Fund for Mental Health Delivers community donations

Three Blind River organizations have received funds from a local tournament to help them to develop their mental health projects.

Terry Davis, the general manager of Cameco’s Blind River refinery says the company held its inaugural golf tournament this summer raising $13,000 for the Cameco Fund for Mental Health.

He says St. Mary’s school has received $5,000 to help the school counsellor deliver mental health supports to students and their families, another $5,000 to the Huron Shores Family Health Team to establish a new baby support group and $3,000 to the Blind River Air Cadets to establish an all-season field kitchen for outdoor excursions.

Davis says they are proud the first tournament has gone so well and plans are already in the works for the next one.
