Elliot Lake man charged with murder in Sault Ste. Marie

An Elliot Lake man was arrested for murder by police on Saturday.

OPP in Sault Ste. Marie says the 27-year-old man has been charged with second-degree murder in Sault Ste. Marie is also facing several firearms offences.

Police say a victim was found dead of apparent gunshot wounds in a multi-unit dwelling on Albert Street West early Wednesday morning.

The investigation is continuing.

The man has been charged with the following offences:

Second-degree murder

Discharge firearm with intent

Pointing a firearm

Possession of a loaded firearm

Careless use of a firearm

Carry concealed weapon

Unauthorized possession of a firearm

Possession of a firearm knowing possession is unauthorized

Fail to comply with condition of an undertaking

Fail to comply with condition of a judicial release order.
