Cambrian president Bill Best moving on

After more than eight years at the helm of Cambrian College, President Bill Best has advised Cambrian’s Board of Governors that he will be returning to his home province of New Brunswick to accept the role of Vice President Finance and Administration at the University of New Brunswick.

Jeff Smith, the chair of the Governors’ Board, says the governors appreciate the work Best has done over the years enjoying unprecedented growth, even through the pandemic.

Best says it has been a true privilege to serve the Cambrian communities, but it is now time to put family first and to return home.

Best served as the inaugural chair of the Kivi Park Community Foundation, as a director of the Sudbury Airport Community Development Corporation and with NORCAT, among others.

Shawn Poland, Executive Director of the college foundation, will assume the role of Interim President on Best’s last day on January 3rd, 2023.

Smith says the recruitment process is now underway.
