Lighting up the skating oval

People who love to skate will be able to take in the dark hours following the installation of lights at the skating oval in Espanola.
Espanola Lions Club spokesperson Rock Taylor says three solar-powered lights have been installed by Espanola Public Works last week.
He says the 900-to-1200-watt solar units will ensure safety while taking in the activity in the dark hours.
Taylor adds the club was pleased to have raised funds to provide the poles and lighting for the popular winter activity.
The Lions began taking care of the skating oval, utilizing the track and field course a couple of years ago and will continue to partner with the town in maintaining the facility when winter sets in.
