The Society for Animals in Distress is waiting on a report by an insurance investigator about their building in Elliot Lake.
The shelter at 33 Perini Road in Elliot Lake had to be shut down due to some structural problems and a forensic investigation is now underway by an insurance investigator.
The report will focus on the structural integrity of the building, and a decision will be made regarding remediation and/or covering the potential loss of the property.
According to the board, the report should be available to the public within two to three weeks.
The city is also assisting the organization and fundraising is now underway to help the association move forward.
