Three arrested in altercation at Elliot Lake bar

Following an ongoing investigation into a bar fight in Elliot Lake, three individuals are facing various charges.

Constable Phil Young with the East Algoma OPP says early Sunday morning at approximately 2:00 am, officers were called out to a disturbance at a bar on Philip Walk in Elliot Lake.

He says the complainant reported a fight had ensued between numerous people inside and continued outside in the parking lot.

Young says once outside, threats were made with a knife and a handgun adding the suspects had left in a black car by the time police arrived but were eventually found.

He says a 26-year-old woman from Elliot Lake, 21-year-old man from York and a 25-year-man from Huron Shores are facing various charges from accessory after the fact, possession of dangerous weapons, uttering threats and breach.

Young says the investigation is continuing.

The 26-year-old woman from Elliot Lake, was charged with:

Occupant of Motor Vehicle Knowing There was a Firearm, contrary to section 94 of the Criminal Code (CC)

Accessory After the Fact to Commit Indictable Offence, contrary to section 463(b) of the CC

 

The 25-year-old from Huron Shores, was charged with:

Assault with a Weapon, contrary to section 267(a) of the CC

Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose, contrary to section 88 of the CC

Occupant of Motor Vehicle Knowing There was a Firearm, contrary to section 94 of the CC

Uttering Threats – Cause Death or Bodily Harm, contrary to section 264.1(1)(a) of the CC

Failure to Comply with Undertaking (Three Counts), contrary to section 145(4)(a) of the CC

 

The 21-year-old from York was charged with:

Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm, contrary to section 91(1) of the CC

Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose, contrary to section 88 of the CC

Carrying Concealed Weapon, contrary to section 90 of the CC

Occupant of Motor Vehicle Knowing There was a Firearm, contrary to section 94 of the CC

Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine, contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
