Time to get down and dirty – Fifth Annual Espanola Firefighters ATV Poker Run

If you love ATVing and getting down and dirty, it is time to take part in the Fifth Annual Espanola Firefighters ATV Poker Run.

The chair of the Muscular Dystrophy Committee for the Espanola Firefighters Association, Ryan Courtemanche, says there are only 300 tickets available, and they are selling quickly.

He says the popular quad run will be held on September 17th rain or shine, with registration at Boogie Mountain, the starting point of the event.

He adds tickets are $50 each with all the proceeds going towards Muscular Dystrophy Canada adding they hope to match or exceed the last run which raised $11,000.

Registration is from 8:30 to 10am at Boogie Mountain (the starting point of the ride). Tickets are $50 per person. Courtemanche says participants can purchase tickets from Home Hardware Espanola, Garnet’s in Espanola, Trailside sports in Espanola, Riverview Variety in Massey, Algonquin Equipment in Sudbury, and Brokerlink in Sudbury. People can also check out Facebook at: https://www.facebook.com/EFDmudrun.

The ride will start at Boogie Mountain, then the Bass Lake trail to Fox Lake Road, onto House Lake and back to the ski hill for 5 pm and the presentation of prizes and acknowledgement of supporting businesses and individuals.

He adds the committee will also have a ‘less’ muddy optional trail for people who don’t want to get too dirty, but that is a big part of the fun.
