Peltier to address I-A-C-C national event

The Indigenous Arts Collective of Canada is making plans for a second annual ceremony on Parliament Hill which will include a Manitoulin Island activist.

The organization is hosting a “children and youth led” ceremony to mark the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

The event will feature a memorial to commemorate the lives of children who died at residential schools, as well as a “giving circle” showing appreciation towards survivors.

Wiikwemkoong’s Autumn Peltier, an activist and the Chief Water commissioner for the Anishinabek Nation, will also be at the event as a guest speaker.

The I-A-C-C is hosting the ceremony on the 30th of September.
