Pope Francis is admitting that members of the Roman Catholic church sexually abused children and vulnerable people in residential schools it ran across Canada.
During an evening prayer session in Quebec City, the pontiff said the church must not allow itself to take advantage of others.
It’s his first mention of the issue during his visit to Canada.
Francis is due to fly to Iqaluit today before heading back to Rome this evening.
