Blind River receiving FedNor funding

FedNor is investing over $4.5 million to upgrade public community spaces across northern Ontario.

A dozen projects are receiving funding including nearly $500,000 for Blind River.

The money will be used to improve and upgrade public space along the waterfront.

FedNor says the project will replace pathways, docks, and boardwalks with safe and accessible alternatives constructed from environmentally-friendly products.

A municipally-owned derelict building will also be demolished to create space for public use, including picnic tables and fishing platforms.

Six construction jobs are anticipated to be created throughout the development stages.

The federal money is being provided through the Canada Community Revitalization Fu
