Charges laid in business break-ins

East Algoma OPP has made an arrest in relation to break-ins that took place earlier this Spring.

Constable Bev Gauthier says back on May 30th, officers responded to two break and enters in the Municipality of Huron Shores and Plummer Additional Township.

She says the first took place at a warehouse In Huron Shores between May 29th and May 30th with over $60,000 in merchandise stolen.

Gauthier says the second was reported at a hardware business in Plummer Additional Township overnight on May 30th with an estimated $9,900 in merchandise taken.

She says police located and seized an enclosed trailer in Plummer, which contained the bulk of the stolen property on June 2nd.

Gauthier says a 50-year-old man from Bruce Mines was arrested on June 8th and charged with break and enter, possession of stolen property, and two counts of theft.

He is to appear in Elliot Lake court on August 4th.
