Funeral for Espanola Deputy Mayor William (Bill) Foster this Thursday

The community of Espanola will say goodbye to its Deputy Mayor this week.

William (Bill) Foster passed away last Tuesday.

Mayor Jill Beer says Foster is remembered for his dedication to the community, not only as a councillor but as a volunteer.

Beer says he was dedicated to improving the lives of all Espanola residents, served on several boards and committees and always represented the interest of the people.

She adds his commitment went beyond council as an active volunteer, especially to the Espanola Lions Club.

Foster was also an avid supporter of the Conservative Party.

Flags at the town hall were lowered to half-mast last week to honour his passing.

Foster was 73.

Visitation is tomorrow at the Bourcier Funeral Home at 2 pm and 7 pm followed by his funeral on Thursday at 11 am at St. Jude’s Church.
