Torch Run well received in the region

The 35th Annual Law Enforcement Torch Run in support of Special Olympics Ontario is on its way out of the local region, but not before receiving widespread support.

Greater Sudbury Police spokesperson Kaitlyn Dunn says the service was thrilled to host the run this week with local Special Olympian Jaclyn Beaudoin (JACE-lyn BOW-din) carrying the Flame of Hope to the city’s police station.

Dunn says over the past six weeks, Jaclyn raised over $1,200 for Special Olympics by walking 182 kilometres.

Dunn points out the run is the largest fundraiser by police organizations and its supporters across Ontario.
