Council to listen to business owners in regards to downtown protests

The Town of Espanola wants businesses concerned about the downtown Freedom Party protests to appear before the council.

That’s according to Luv U to the Moon owner Brenda Lafrance.

She says she has received confirmation council will provide an opportunity for local businesses to voice their concerns at the June 28th meeting.

Over the last few months or so, she says protesters have been sometimes vocal, honking horns and interacting with customers and business owners.

Lafrance adds the OPP, and the bylaw officer is also aware of the situation.

She stresses the protesters have the right to share their beliefs, but not intimidate business owners and customers.

Moose FM has sent multiple requests to interview protesters but has not yet received a reply.

The form to appear before the council is available through Lafrance or by calling the town office at 705-869-1540.
