One of the first orders of business for Espanola council last night was to introduce its latest addition.
Ron Duplessis was sworn in as councillor last night for the remainder of the term, which expires in October.
Duplessis was chosen for the position since he ran in the last election and was the next in line according to the number of votes.
His first order of business with fellow councillors was to pass the 2022 municipal budget with ratepayers seeing a slight decrease in this year’s mill rate.
Ratepayers will see a saving of around $9 for every $100,000 in assessment.
