Return of major fundraiser for North Shore Search and Rescue

It has been a tough couple of years for North Shore Search and Rescue, which receives no government supports and had to suspend one of their biggest fundraisers for the last two years due to the pandemic.

However, Rock Taylor of the Espanola Lions Club, says they hope to see that turn around with the popular Duck Race, which will be held on Canada Day in Espanola.

He says the club has partnered with the rescue unit to help them out with the distribution of tickets to raise funds for a new vehicle.

Taylor say the Lions are turning over all money raised to North Shore Search and Rescue, whose volunteers will host the race on the Spanish River.

Taylor adds tickets are available at businesses throughout town and with over 42 prizes to be won valued at over $7,000, he hopes to see them sell out quickly.
