Masking protocols continue at most health institutions

Don’t put those masks away just yet.

Most of the local hospitals and health agencies will continue with masking protocols.

The institutions are all following the recommendations in accordance with Ontario Hospital Association, which includes mandatory masking precautions.

The move also includes treatment centres, clinics and long-term care facilities.

Masked mandates for other settings will be eliminated by midnight tonight following the announcement by the province’s chief medical officer of health, Doctor Kieran Moore who says the COVID-19 situation continues to ease, helped by high vaccination rates.

The public is advised to contact their health agency before appointments or visit a health institution to find out what protocols are in place.
