First Nation leaders from across the province are meeting today as part of the Anishinabek Nation Grand Council Assembly 2022.
Anishinabek Nation Grand Council Chief Reg Niganobe says the assembly, which opened yesterday and runs until Friday, is to bring together Anishinabek Nation leadership, staff, and other stakeholders to discuss the status of existing mandates, next steps and provide direction on various issues raised within the First Nations territories.
He says the Anishinabek Nation hosts two assemblies each year, one in June and one in November, alternating locations based on region.
