A new mural, Northern Resurgence, is the largest ever unveiled at a local area school.
Lo-Ellen Park Secondary School principal Pamela Potvin says students partnered with college students of Cambrian’s School of Creative Arts and Design.
She says the mural is 16 metres in length and 2.4 metres in height and is located in the cafeteria.
She adds it depicts the beauty of the northern wilderness and the importance of conserving the landscape.
Cambrian professor Johanna Westby adds the project was a fantastic opportunity for all the students to experience working on a large-scale public work of art, adding it took about 250 hours of work to create the mural.
