The geese are making their way back to the north as part of their annual migration but can be a nuisance.
To that end, Elliot Lake’s Municipal Enforcement Department will be using a variety of techniques over the next few weeks to deal with what is considered a geese nuisance at local beaches and Westview Park.
According to the release, the department wants the public to be aware that these techniques may involve some pyrotechnics and loud noises that could be mistaken for gunshots.
These control measures may be deployed at various hours of the day starting at 7 am, straight through until 8 pm in the evening
