Downtown Maker’s Market proposed for Espanola downtown

The Town of Espanola has partnered with local business Simplicity Natural Foods to develop a Downtown Maker’s Market.

Proprietor Trisha Stewart says the town paid for their insurance this year and is providing advertising and sandwich boards to promote the concept.

Stewart says the market will hold up to 45 vendors and she has already had up to 25 applications for vendors who can provide homemade goods from jams and soaps, paintings to jewellery, and farm produce to natural foods.

Stewarts says the market will be set up at the municipal parking lot on the fourth Saturday of every month, across the street from her business on Tudhope Street, starting June 25th and running until the end of September running from 10 am to 2 pm.

She adds vendors pay a $10 fee, which will be placed in a reserve fund to set up the market once again next year.
