East Algoma OPP in Elliot Lake closed a section of a local neighbourhood while they investigated a death in the city on Monday.
Constable Phil Young says early Monday morning officers were called out to a death-related occurrence at Scott Road and Pearson Drive in Elliot Lake.
He says they had received a call from a community member that a man was lying outside of a pick-up truck off the roadway, so the intersection was closed off for the investigation.
He says an 80-year-old man was confirmed deceased and no foul play is suspected at this time.
Young added there will be a post-mortem and the investigation in continuing under the direction of the Office of the Chief Coroner and Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.
