Sudbury man planning to swim around the Island

A Sudbury man has been training at the Espanola pool prepping to literally swim around Manitoulin Island this summer.

Thirty-five-year-old Matthieu Bonin has been practicing at the pool for several months prepping for an epic 360-kilometre swim this July to raise funds for multipler sclerosis research.

He says he is also swimming to honor the memory of his Aunt Claire Poirier who passed away from the illness.

In support of his efforts, the Town of Espanola is offering free fit lanes on Sunday, May 17th from seven am to 12 noon for the public to make donations and/or swim for the cause.

For more information, email: [email protected]. The official website is at www.msmanitoulinswim.com . You can donate using the following link, or you can organize a fundraiser and give to the cause at: https://msspwcms.donordrive.com/index.cfm…
