First Nations to mark National Day of Awareness For Missing And Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, Two-Spirit Week

Native and non-native communities across the country will gather together to mark National Day Of Awareness For Missing And Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls (2S) Two-Spirit Week.

A local area community, Serpent River First Nation, is hosting a gathering to mark the day this Thursday.

Following Elder Prayer, address by the chief and a moment of silence, a Healing Jingle Dance will be held followed by the feast at the Teaching Lodge.

The ceremony gets underway at 5 pm.

The public is invited to host their own moment of silence and to wear red in honour of the day.
