The Alzheimer Walks in Elliot Lake and Blind River will be held virtually

Both Alzheimer Walks in Elliot Lake and Blind River will be held virtually once again this year due to ongoing concerns with COVID-19.

Alzheimer Society of Sault Ste. Marie and Algoma District fundraiser Courtney Nagle says instead of an organized gathering, participants can choose their own locations, times and walking activities in both communities.

She adds since walkers will choose their own dates to walk it will not be a one-day event, but the Elliot Lake fundraiser will culminate on May 29th, the Blind River event on June 4th.

Nagle adds there are some 3,225 people with Alzheimer’s in the Algoma District.
